Food Insecurity
Kate, Beth, and Lincoln talk about what it must have been like for the Pilgrims to have to supply all their own food and not to be able to just go down to the store to get food. Since we are surrounded by so many sources of food today, that can be hard for us to relate to as most people in the U.S. have regular access to food.
However, in 2022, 5.1 million households in the U.S. experienced very high food insecurity, meaning at least one family member had reduced food intake during the year due to a lack of money or access to food resources. If we look beyond the U.S., the numbers are in the hundreds of millions.
